Welcome to my site of old radio stuff

I have been infected with the so called 'Radio Virus' ever since I was a little kid. The unique sound, the soft glow of the dial with names of foreign cities and the possibility of hearing voices from all over the world have never lost their appeal to me. My family saved a lot of their worn-out gear from the garbage can and all the 'treasures' that I found at attics, cellars and sheds soon added up to a real collection.
Today, you can still find a lot of interesting sets at flea markets and jumble sales, although some vendors think that their merchandise should cost a fortune because it is somewhat older than 25 years. Don't buy it, there is a good chance of encountering this 'unique' radio at a next sale for a much fairer price.
In Holland, the prewar radios have become rare though, probably because a lot of them got lost during World War II and nearly all that survived the war are nowadays in possession of collectors. The postwar sets can be quite interesting too however. A lot of new developments came into use during this period, such as FM, High Fidelity, stereo, television and the tape recorder.
Well, here you find my collection or at least a part of it because the collection tends to get bigger nearly every week. Enjoy it.
