PHILIPS L1W22T "Nanette" | 1963 |
AF 124 AF 125 AF 126 (3x) AC 125 AC 127 AC 132 | plastic | This one belongs to Herbert Jagzhies, he works at the "Schaltungsdienst Lange o.H.G." and he donated this picture of his L1W22T. You can see that a three-band radio with a width of only 10,5 cm was already possible in 1963, although the Japanese competitors like Sony, National and Toshiba were the true miniaturization avant-garde. Nevertheless, compared to the L2X80B, with it's width and height of approx. 25 and 20 cm, the reduction in size is rather dramatic. |
Herbert sent me some pictures of other Philips portables with a brief technical description included, here you'll find them
